Pour Cups & Crucibles

pour cup pictures02

Quality ceramic pour cups are an important part of the ceramic shell tree assembly. A well-manufactured cup can reduce the risk of casting defects resulting from cup erosion during a metal pour. The better the surface quality of the pour cup used, the less opportunity for the cup erosion or spalling.

Schaefer Industries, Inc. ceramic pour cups provide the best possible quality to the investment caster. Every piece produced is 100% visually inspected at various points throughout the manufacturing process. Parts are rejected for the slightest flaw to insure defect-free performance on the foundry floor.

Schaefer pour cups are sufficiently dense to resist the thermal shock that occurs when molten metal meets ceramic. Again, reducing the potential failure during a pour.

Schaefer pour cups are composed of clay-bonded mullite with a very low tramp element content to satisfy stringent aerospace specifications.
