Core Materials

50/50 Core Mix
  • Used to hand pack cores

  • Used primarily by ferrous casters

  • Exothermic as it sets; which, in most cases, prevents it from being used in direct contact with wax patterns

  • Can be used for making preformed cores, depending on the size and type of core needed

910 investment core material
  • Used for cores

  • Used with non-ferrous alloys

  • Offers good green strength and thermal shock resistance

  • Easily removed after casting

  • Can be used directly in contact with the wax pattern

C-1 Core Mix
  • Strong core material used to make preformed cores

  • Used primarily by ferrous casters

  • Exothermic as it sets; which, in most cases, prevents it from being used in direct contact with wax patterns

  • Can be used to hand pack cores, depending on the size and type of core needed

Core Hardener 2000™ binder
  • Used to strengthen the ceramic shell in small holes, slots, and hard-to-reach openings

  • Helps prevent metal penetration by strengthening the shell

  • Easy-to-use

  • Can also be utilized to strengthen R&R’s ferrous and non-ferrous core materials

Kwik-Core™ material
  • Comprised of Kwik-Core™ powder and Kwik-Core™ binder

  • Designed for hand packing cores

  • Used primarily by ferrous casters

  • Low exothermic reaction

  • Can be poured directly into the cavity of the wax and can be applied against most wax patterns

  • Pourable for easy application

  • Eliminates the need for extra shell drying time on complicated parts

  • An ideal alternative to shelling narrow slots and passageways
